“Land of Ideas”: Yakindu recognized for being particularly innovative

What is “Germany – Land of Ideas?”

The main message is “Germany - Land of Ideas.” The phrase sums up the most important characteristics associated with Germany: ingenuity, creative passion and visionary thinking.

The future development of the country is guided by the ideas of the people, just like it has always been in the past. “Germany – Land of Ideas” underlines the sustainability and the high level of performance and innovation of the country.

German President Horst Köhler is the patron of the initiative. The initiative is sponsored by the German government and commerce and industry, represented by the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and leading cooperations. Jürgen R. Thumann, President of the Federation of German Industries (BDI), heads the steering committee. The other members of the steering committee are Michael Glos, Federal Minister of Economy and Technology, Dr. Annette Schavan, Federal Minister of Education and Research and Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs as well as Dr. Karl Hans Arnold of the Federal Association of Newspaper Publishers, Dr. Wulf H. Bernotat, head of the initiative's advisory board and Dr. Tessen von Heydebreck, Chairman of the Board of the Federal Association of German Banks.

Yakindu in the “Land of Ideas”

itemis AG was recognized through the addition of Yakindu to the initiative “Germany – Land of Ideas”. This award again confirms Yakindu's high level of performance, sustainability and innovation.

We are surrounded every day by embedded systems. Whether in vehicles, household equipment or consumer electronics, embedded systems control certain functions based on more and more complex functions.

Yakindu provides software developers the tools they need for programming and testing these embedded systems in a fast and effective manner. By doing this, Yakindu combines the most up-to-date information systems with engineering techniques. The most important parts of this process are the digital models of the systems to be developed. With the help of these models it is possible to automatically create parts of the software, to simulate their effect and to test their interplay with other components. The grass roots of Yakindu, represented in the research project “Model-Driven, Generative Software Development for Embedded Systems,” were granted an award at the competition “Zukunftswettbewerb Ruhrgebiet.”
