Model-Driven Development of Embedded Systems
Yakindu is a comprehensive portfolio of products and services for the model-driven development of embedded systems.
Embedded systems can be found in cars, planes, intelligent home automation and other facilities. Consequently, the increasing complexity of control software calls for new ways of software development. Model-driven generative development reduces complexity, is advantageous in terms of speed and ensures quality.
We offer you a broad spectrum of assistance with Yakindu.
YAKINDU offers a broad spectrum of support.
- The Yakindu Development Tools allow your tool chain to be up to the future. They upgrade your tool chain by extensions which are necessary for an ideal support of model driven development processes.
- The Yakindu Consulting Services provide you with the support you need to implement model-driven development.
itemis AG is granted an award by the initiative "Germany – Land of Ideas."

itemis AG was granted an award by the organization “
Germany – Land of Ideas” for the Yakindu project on 27 February 2008, which was presented at the Embedded World conference for the first time.
The award again confirms Yahkindu’s high level of performance and innovation. This potential had already been revealed within the scope of the competition “Zukunftswettbewerb Ruhrgebiet”, where the research project “Model-Based, Generative Software Development for Embedded Systems” was also decorated with a prize.
Expert Opinion

“Embedded systems are the driving force in a lot of core areas of the German industry. They are a good example for a comprehensive and interdisciplinary field of research and development.
A lot of interfaces exist between the application range of embedded systems and other areas. In this way, MDSD is a natural complement to the development of embedded systems, where model-based and generative aspects are applied for years already. Thus MDSD may comprehensively support the development of target systems.”
